(Answers are at the bottom, so try not to cheat!)

- I am always hungry,

Is taller than trees,
Up, up it goes,
Yet it never grows? - This thing all things devours,
Birds, beasts, trees, and flowers.
Gnaws iron bites steel,
Grinds hard stones to meal,
Slays king, ruins town,
And beats high mountain down - It cannot be seen, it cannot be felt,
Cannot be heard, cannot be smelt,
Lies behind stars and under hills,
And empty holes it fills.
Comes first follows after,
Ends life kills laughter. - An eye in a blue face

- Voiceless it cries,
Wingless flutters,
Toothless bites,
Mouth-less mutters - Above our heads, a vault of changing colour, a sign to start, a sign to stop, the stage on which light and dark follow each other.
